7th Grade Band

Welcome to the Beginning Band Homepage! 

During 7th Grade, students are invited to become members of the De Soto Band Program.  

This course is designed for students interested in beginning-level instruction on flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, baritone, and percussion instruments (orchestra bells, xylophone, snare drum, bass drum, and other percussion accessory instruments). Students will receive instruction on tone production, music reading skills, basic music theory, and instrument care. Attendance at all performances is required according to the guidelines set forth in the De Soto JH Band Handbook.
